WTT Middle East Hub shows Qatar’s capability as a top-class organiser: Al Rumaihi

Mohammad Amin

DOHA: Qatar Table Tennis Association (QTTA) Executive Director Muhammad Ahmad Al Rumaihi said that the World Table Tennis (WWT) Middle East Hub once proved as to why Qatar is a top-class destination for international sports events.

“We did our best to meet the needs of everyone and provided all facilities for the overall success of the global event,” said Al Rumaihi.

The WTT Contender and WTT Star Contender turned out to be a major hit with the aficionados.

“The players and delegates returned home with a good memory of Qatar. They expressed satisfaction the way they were hosted by us amid the difficulties posed by the current pandemic," added the QTTA official.

The WTT got underway on February 28 with the qualifiers of first tier event — WTT Contender.

“The team headed by QTTA president Khalil bin Ahmed Al Mohannadi has put in a lot of effort to make this event a successful one," added Al Rumaihi.

“We need to continue work hard to help QTTA earn more success,” he said. “WTT Doha will be an extension of the series of these exceptional successes already achieved by us in the past.”
