DOHA: The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Deputy President and Qatar Table Tennis Association President Khalil Al Mohannadi thanked Aspetar, Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital, for their unstinted support during last month’s back-to-back WTT Middle East Hub events.
Mr Khalil honoured Aspetar CEO Dr Abdulaziz Al Kuwari at a function to celebrate the World Table Tennis Day on Wednesday.
“I thank Aspetar officials for the warm welcome and hospitality. The choice to hold the International Table Tennis Day in Qatar with the participation of Aspetar in particular is an appreciation for the role played by them during the WTT events,” said Mr Khalil.
Besides the inaugural WTT Middle East Hub, Doha also hosted world and Asian qualifiers for the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
“We must praise Aspetar and the Ministry of Public Health for their great contribution during the tournament. Despite the big number of delegates that included players and officials from 71 countries, everything went off well without any injury and any coronavirus cases.”

Steve Dainton, ITTF CEO, Khaled Ali Al Mawlawi, Aspetar Chief Administrative Officer, and Riyadh Al Miladi, Executive Director of the National Sports Medicine Program, were also present at the ceremony.
